Research Interests:
My research interests are in modelling wound healing. In particular distinguishing between the healing of diabetic and normal wounds by considering interactions between the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. The techniques I use involve numerically solving systems of PDEs, mathematical analysis using travelling waves, stability analysis, perturbation methods and asymptotic analysis. I am supervised by Professor Philip Maini and Professor Helen Byrne and we have an ongoing collaboration with Dr. Paul Liu at Brown University who studies the effects of diabetes on wound healing in mice. Using data provided by Dr. Liu I use fitting methods to validate my models, suggest experimental hypotheses and aim to predict possible treatment options to improve abnormal healing. Teaching:
Teaching assistant for C8.1b Mathematical Physiology. Material available here https://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/courses/course/19582/material Demonstrator in MatLab and Mathematical Biology for the Doctoral Training Centre |
