My research interests lie in problems in the calculus of variations, applied to the study of liquid crystals and nematic elastomers. My work is currently concerned with bridging statistical and microscopic theories for the elasticity of nematic elastomers, as well as analysis of the resulting models.
I am supervised by Professor Sir John Ball FRS.
