Research Interests:
My research interests consist of Finite Element Method, Multiscale Modeling and Scientific Computing. My current research topic is Quasicontinuum Method for Computational Nano Technology. In particular, I am interested in the theoretical model analysis and real applications, including computer implementation, of different QC models. Prizes, Awards and Scholarships:
Current Holder of Chinese Ministry of Education-University of Oxford Joint Scholarship. Attendee of Biennial Conference on Numerical Analysis as a first year DPhil in University of Strathclyde in June 2009 and my presentation was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Student Talk. First Class National Scholarship for Excellent Academic Performance for academic year 2006-2007 in November 2007 (the highest standard government scholarship that is awarded to university students) and delivered one of the two speeches on behalf of the receivers of this scholarship from all over China in the awarding ceremony in the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China, Beijing. Major/Recent Publications:
Christoph Ortner and Hao Wang, A Priori Error Estimates for Energy-Based Quasicontinuum Approximations of a Periodic Chain, to appear on Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences Teaching:
I am teaching Numerical Analysis and Finite Element Method classis this term. Lecture Notes and Problem Sheets can be found: C12.2b: Finite Element Methods for Partial Differential Equations |
