Research Interests:
Modelling host-parasite
dynamics, population dynamics and evolution, with applications to pest
and disease control.
Further Details:
October 2008 to Present - Mathematical Ecologist at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (http://www.ceh.ac.uk/), working on various projects including within-host mixed infections, environmental gradient effects on host-pathogen abundance and distribution, ecology and evolution of phenology, host-parasite coevolution and modelling applications of transgenics in sterile insect techniques. April 2005 to October 2008 - Postdoctoral fellow in the Faculty of Biology, University of Leeds, working on modelling the coevolution of host-parasite dynamics in varying environments. April 2004 to April 2005 - Postdoctoral fellow in the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, working on modelling the within-host dynamics of mixed infections in insect hosts. October 2000 to April 2004 - PhD student in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Bath, modelling aphid resistance to fungal pathogens. October 1995 to June 2000 - MMath student in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Bath, studying applied mathematics. |
