Short Courses in Mathematical Finance

Short Courses 2012-13

  • Advanced Modules of the MSc in Mathematical Finance are available as 'short courses' to those not registered on this programme.  Each of the Advanced Modules explores a key area in contemporary Mathematical Finance.
  • No proof of qualification is required to attend a module as a short course but, to benefit fully, short course students should have background knowledge in mathematical finance such as that covered in core modules 1-4 of the MSc.
  • "Short course" students are not assessed.  At the end of the module they are issued with a certificate of attendance.
  • The programme of Advanced Modules is published in July each year.  Please note however, that the content of the modules is subject to small change.

Register for Short Courses

This link will take you directly to the course registration page.  If you have any queries please email mathfin [-at-] maths [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk (see full contact details for the Mathematical & Computational Finance Administrative Office).

Please note that registration usually closes 10 days before the start of a module, and may close earlier if capacity has been reached.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU OR YOUR COMPANY WISH TO BE INVOICED FOR YOUR COURSE FEE, RATHER THAN PAY ONLINE, you should please email mathfin [-at-] maths [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk to that effect BEFORE you register online. We can then send you or your company an invoice and enter your registration manually via a method that does not require online payment for the registration to be completed.

Module Fees

(Module fees includes course materials and teas, coffees and lunches.  Accomodation is not provided.)

Fee for attendance at an advanced module in 2012-13: £2300 per module

The following reduced fees are available to members of Oxford University:

University of Oxford students from departments other than the Mathematical Institute: £1150 per module.

Student members of study groups within Mathematical Institute other than MCFG: £575 per module.

Ex-students of the PG Diploma Mathematical Finance or the MSc Mathematical Finance and current DPhil students in Mathematical and Computational Finance Group (MCFG): usually £200 per module.  (This is intended to cover the costs of consumables and occasionally it may be necessary to charge more due to increased consumable costs associated with a particular module.)

Cancellation

Please note that once you have registered online for a module, the fee for that place is non-refundable unless you state in writing to mathfin [-at-] maths [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk that you wish to cancel the place at least ten days before the start of the relevant module.
