Geophysical Fluid Dynamics

I am studying the observed synchronization between the quasi-biennial and semi-annual wind oscillations in the equatorial stratosphere, using low-dimensional dynamical models. It is hoped that a better understanding of the nonlinear coupling between these systems will lead to improvements in how they are characterised in Global Climate Models (GCMs).  This work is jointly supervised by Dr Irene Moroz in Mathematics and Professor Peter Read in Atmospheric Physics.
