Nomura Poster Series

Posters can now be submitted anytime and will be evaluated periodically.

The Nomura Poster Series was launched in September 2009. Its aim is to showcase and promote current research carried out within the MCFG. It provides display facilities for selected posters and travel funds for their presentation at conferences. A list of current and past laureates is here.

What?

Sucessful posters will be displayed in the Nomura Poster Series display cases for a period of 6 to 12 months as well as the NPS Laureates webpage. The presenting author will be awarded with up to £500 of travel funds. The funds can be used for paricpation in conferences and workshops at which the poster is presented, within a period of one year from the date of the award.

Who?

All MCFG Members are eligible but DPhil Students and Post-Docs have priority.

How?

Between one and three new posters are selected three times a year at the beginning of each term. Posters are selected based on their research merit, and in particular: depth of mathematical techniques employed, novelty of approach, and impact on the practice and/or theory of mathematical and computational finance. Further, adding diversity to the current NPS range is regarded as a benefit.
Applications should be submitted by email to the Chairman of the NPS Committee. Applications can be made at anytime and will be evaluated within 4 weeks of reception.
Each application should contain:
-- A short (up to one page) research statement presenting the poster in a broader perspective and specifying the progress of the related paper (in particular if the paper has been submitted).
-- The poster in pdf format created using the MCFG Poster template. Both portrait and landscape orientations are allowed.
-- A short description of travel plans (for presentation of the poster at conferences, workshops etc).

The Nomura Poster Series Committee is currently composed of:
Dr Hanqing Jin, Dr Jan Obloj (Chairman) and Dr Christoph Reisinger
