Research in finance takes place in many departments of the University. The Mathematical and Computational Finance Group is based in the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and research also takes place in the Mathematical Institute.

The Oxford Financial Research Centre is an interdisciplinary forum bringing together all researchers in the finance centres above, together with those in the Said Business School, and the Departments of Economics, Statistics, and Computer Science. The University now hosts an interdisciplinary institution for finance, The Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance.

All the departments above offer taught and research postgraduate courses, and the Mathematical and Computational Finance Group runs a part-time MSc in Mathematical Finance jointly with the Department for Continuing Education.
