Oxford Collaborative Development Workshop
Tuesday 11th - Wednesday 12th, September, 2012
Cross-disciplinary collaboration among mathematical modellers, engineers and experimentalists is at the heart of OCCAM.
This two-day meeting will advance collaborative projects and provide a platform to instigate new projects in complex fluid flows between Oxford and other national and international universities. The meeting will comprise sessions in which new and existing projects are discussed and worked on, with breakout sessions in which strategies for collaboration among mathematical modellers, engineers and experimentalists are discussed and ideas for optimizing these techniques presented. The workshop will serve to establish further links between OCCAM and the wider scientific hydrodynamics community. Typical problems will include surfactant spreading and desorption kinetics, particle dispersion in microfluidic channels and heavy metal removal via micellization.
