OCCAM Visits
OCCAM hosts a broad range of UK and international academic visitors, all of whom play an important collaborative role. The duration of visits is flexible and can range from a few days up to a maximum of a year, dependent upon the type of visitor post applied for.
We especially welcome visitors with families and while we cannot offer further financial support for partners and children, we do all we can to provide a flexible and accommodating environment for both the visitor and their family.

- OCCAM Visiting Fellowships (OVF) - A scheme for established researchers holding academic positions at other institutions. Applicants are required to participate in one or more of OCCAM’s research projects during their visit.
- KAUST Visiting Fellows (KVF)- A visiting fellow scheme for faculty at KAUST. The scheme will enable faculty from KAUST to visit us in Oxford for periods of up to three months.
- OCCAM Visiting Students and Visiting Post-Doctoral Research Assistants (OVS or OVP)- These schemes are designed to assist visitors with research projects from their home institutions. Applicants need to indicate how their own research projects can benefit from OCCAM expertise, and will be expected to participate in OCCAM’s collaborative culture.
- Short Term Visitors (STV) - Short-term visits are integral to our open and collaborative ethos and are open to anyone who feels that they can contribute and benefit from collaboration. To do this you would need to contact an OCCAM Faculty or Research Fellow host with a proposal for your visit.
- OCCAM Summer Studentships (OSS) - Aimed at students mid way though their undergraduate degree, or between undergraduate and Masters degrees, the Summer Studentship programme offers students the opportunity to come to Oxford during the summer months to work under the supervision of one of our researchers on a project relevant to OCCAM’s portfolio. The deadline for applications has now passed.
