Connecting to the Institute's VPN from Mac OS X

VPN setup for Mac OS X

The instructions below are for Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), but should work for other versions.

Connecting to the Departmental Microsoft VPN Service

Start "System Preferences".
Click "Network".
Click the "+" symbol.
Set Interface to "VPN".
Set VPN Type to "PPTP".
Set Service name to "Maths VPN" (or similar).
Click "Create".
Click the newly created VPN connection.
Set Server Address to "vpn.maths.ox.ac.uk".
Set Account Name to your Maths username.
Click "Connect".
