Connecting to the Institute's VPN from Windows 7

VPN setup for Windows 7

The instructions below are for Microsoft Windows 7.

Connecting to the Departmental Microsoft VPN Service

Click the "Start" button.
Select "Control Panel".
Click "Network and Sharing Center".
Click "Set up a new connection or network".
Click "Connect to a workplace".

If you get prompted with the following:
  "Do you want to use a connection that you already have?"
Then
  Select "No, create a new connection".G

Select "Use my Internet connection (VPN)".
Set Internet address to: vpn.maths.ox.ac.uk
Set Destination name to: Maths PPTP VPN
Click "Next".
Set User name to: your usual Maths username
Set Password to: your usual Maths password
Click "Connect".
