Curiosity Carnival is Oxford’s European Researchers’ Night and will be Oxford’s biggest Public Engagement with Research event to date, taking place on 29 September 2017 in the University’s Museums, Gardens and Libraries from noon until 10pm. Over 300 researchers from over 60 departments are already taking part.

Street activities

We are looking for academics, researchers and DPhil students to engage the public with their research through interactive street activities, games, installations, art and walking tours. The street activities will take place in the afternoon/early evening, in and around Broad Street, and this will be a central hub of activity, performances and music for the Curiosity Carnival. For more information and details on how to apply see bit.ly/street-activities.  The deadline for applications is 9th June.

The Great Research Bake Off (yes, that's right, you saw it here in Maths first)

Researchers and DPhil students: can you explain concepts with crème pâtissière? Philosophies with pavlova? Studies with strudel? Take up our very own technical challenge! Share your showstoppers with the public, with prizes for research interpretation and taste! The Great Research Bake Off is part of Curiosity Carnival and will be held at Oxford Botanic Garden on Friday 29th September 2017 between 3pm and 7pm. Apply for your place using Eventbrite by 12pm on 30th June.
