The UNIQ summer schools are aimed at year 12 (or equivalent) state school/college students who want to learn more about Oxford and the courses here. We run three UNIQ summer schools -- two on "Matrices, Markov Chains, and Modelling" and one on "What are the Chances?" which is held jointly with the Department of Statistics. For more information, including how to apply, see the UNIQ website. Applications open in early December and the deadline for applications is late January. To apply you should be intending to study Mathematics to A2. Further Maths is useful, but not essential.
Students on the course have said they enjoyed learning about new areas and being able to apply this in independent situations, meeting other mathematicians, the problem solving competition, and how much more welcoming and accessible Oxford now seems.
