We wish to appoint up to four Postdoctoral Research Assistants in mathematics who will take part in the research of the Oxford-Emirates Data Science Lab (OEDSL) to work with Professor Peter Grindrod, at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. These are fixed-term positions funded via the Emirates-Oxford Data Science Lab and are available from 1 January 2018 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and will terminate on 31 December 2020.
The successful candidates will be based in the Mathematical Institute and will normally visit Emirates HQ in Dubai up to four times a year for a few days at a time. They will manage their own academic research and administrative activities and carry out collaborative projects with colleagues within partner institutions and research groups. They will also be given the opportunity to undertake teaching which will not exceed 3 hours per week for 24 weeks per annum.
Applicants should have a PhD awarded, or a Master’s degree and PhD submitted (at the time of taking up the position) in mathematics or a related discipline), together with relevant experience and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes with the ability to manage own academic research and associated activities.
