ERC Advanced Grant (personal fellowship)
For researchers who have already established themselves as independent research leaders in their own right. ERC Advanced Grants allow exceptional established research leaders in any field of science, engineering and scholarship to pursue frontier research of their choice.
Funding: up to € 3.5 M per grant (normally up to € 2.5 M)
Duration: up to 5 years

Leverhulme Trust senior research fellowships (Royal Society)
Provides opportunities for academics in all areas of the life and physical sciences, including engineering but excluding clinical medicine, to be relieved of their teaching and administrative duties while conducting full-time research. Providing a reimbursement of the candidate's salary costs to their employing institution and research expenses worth up to £2,500.

Partnerships for public engagement starter grants (EPSRC)
EPSRC is particularly interested in projects that not only increase the public's awareness of science and engineering, but also include some level of dialogue between members of the public and scientists or engineers. Funding for starter grants will not exceed £20,000 full economic costs per award.

LMS collaborative small grants
These support visits for collaborative research, either by the grantee to an institution in the UK or abroad, or by another mathematician to the home of the grantee. Up to £600 is available.
