Phase transformations and phase equilibria in nanosystems

Ostwald ripening of particles [1, 11]; Supramolecular self-assembly, nucleation and growth of molecular clusters, structure stability diagram [3-4]; Phase-change materials [16-17], Microstructure evolution and phase separation in multi-component systems [19, 23, 26].

Transport of proteins and memory mechanisms in neurons

Statistical analysis and modelling of receptor motion in living neurons [2] 

Mass and charge transport

Exciton and charge transport in disordered semiconductors [13, 15, 18]; Diffusion of small molecules in amorphous solids [20, 25]

Modelling of Photovoltaic devices 

Drift and diffusion of charge carriers in photovoltaic nanocomposites [12]; Current-voltage characteristics of composite solar cells with realistic interface morphology [8]

Amorphous solids and glasses

Amorphous structure formation by vapour deposition [23, 26]; Glass forming tendency of materials

Dynamics of crystal lattices, localization of anharmonic vibrations, pattern formation

Phonons, phonon-phonon and electron-phonon interactions; Electronic and vibrational excitations in semiconductors, semiconducting solid solutions, thin films, liquid crystals, and polymers; Localization on impurities and defects; Optical and vibrational properties of multi-component systems.
