Advanced modules are available as 'short courses' to those not registered on the MSc programme.  No proof of qualification is required to attend a module as a short course but, to benefit, short course students need the background knowledge gained by registered Diploma/MSc students through core modules 1-4. "Short course" students are not assessed on what they have learned from the modules.  At the end of the module they are issued with a certificate of attendance.

The following are Advanced modules and are all usually available as short courses. Please click on the title of the short course for a synopsis; below the synopsis you will find a link to the date of that course.

Module 5  Advanced Modelling Topics 1 (Equity, FX, Interest Rates)

Module 6  Advanced Numerical Methods

Module 7 Quantitative Risk Management

Module 8  Advanced Modelling Topics 2 (Credit, Energy, More Interest Rates)

Please note that core modules (modules 1-4) are not available as short courses.

To register for a short course, please download a registration of interest form and return it to the Programme Office.

Fee for each module attended (includes course materials and teas, coffees and lunches):

Ex-students of the PG Diploma Mathematical Finance or the MSc Mathematical Finance and current DPhil students in Mathematical and Computational Finance Group (MCFG): £200 per module.

Student members of study groups within Mathematical Institute other than MCFG: £575 per module.

University of Oxford students from departments other than the Mathematical Institute: £1150

All such students and ex-students will be invoiced.

Others: £2300 per module

Unfortunately we are not able to confirm the content or dates of a module until about 4 weeks before the module takes place.  For this reason, we ask those interested in attending modules as 'short courses' to return a 'Registration of Interest' Form.  When and if a module is confirmed, we will then allocate places available to short course students on that module on a first come, first served basis, in order of receipt of the Registration of Interest forms for that module. Following confirmation of the availability of a place, immediate payment of the short course fee is required to secure the place.

Cancellation:

Please note that once you have been informed that a place is available for you on a module, and you have confirmed that you wish to go ahead with a firm booking of that place, you will be liable for the fee for that place unless you state in writing that you wish to cancel the place at least one week before the start of the relevant module.
