Candidates wishing to apply for EPSRC awards for Doctoral study or for the MSc in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science

Candidates for DPhil places  who wish to apply for an EPSRC award should complete an online application.  You apply for EPSRC funding in the section "About your funding" on the application form.  You should choose EPSRC, applied for, £19000, All fees and living expenses, 3 years.  Funding is normally extended to 3.5 years if necessary, but you should only apply for 3 years in the first instance.

Roughly speaking, eligibility is as follows. Only UK/EU citizens normally resident in the UK/EU are eligible for EPSRC awards. Those who have been normally resident in the UK for the past three years are eligible for awards covering fees and stipend, while others are eligible for fees-only awards.

Please note that, although applications are made online, different deadlines are used for EPSRC applications. Applicants will be considered in regular gathered fields, with closing dates on Thursday 29 November 2012, Jan 3rd 2013, Jan 30th 2013, Feb 28th 2013, Apr 5th 2013. Unsuccessful candidates from each gathered field will in some cases be rejected, and in other cases held for re-evaluation in further rounds unless they request otherwise. Candidates who have not gained an award may transfer their application to the route for unfunded places at any time before the end of July. This should be done by contacting the Graduate Studies Assistant.
