A memorial volume has just been published by the Quarterly Journal of Mathematics to commemorate Sir Michael Atiyah. Edited by Balazs Szendroi, it covers a vast range of topics from 'Segal’s Gamma rings and universal arithmetic' to 'Skyrmions, Tetrahedra and Magic Numbers.'

Registration (free but essential) is now open for the 'People, Places, Practices' Conference, the quinquennial joint meeting of the British Society for the History of Mathematics and the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Mathematics.

We have a very full programme of around 100 invited and contributed talks and activities, extending over the afternoon and early evening of 4 days (British Summer Time).

An international "Round the World Relay in Combinatorics" will take place on Tuesday June 8, 2021. There will be 22 seminars, hosted by different groups around the world.

The day will start in Australia at 2am UTC and end in Alaska at 11pm UTC. Stops along the way include Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the USA. Each site will host a talk, and everyone is welcome! Full details here

We are very excited to announce that booking is open for the biennial maths communicators conference 'Talking Maths in Public' (TMiP), which will be running online from 25th - 28th August 2021, hosted by the ICMS in Edinburgh. The TMiP conference is for anyone involved (or interested in getting involved) in maths communication, engagement and outreach.
