We invite applications for a Senior Research Fellow funded via the Oxford-Emirates Data Science Lab, to work with Professor Peter Grindrod, at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. This is a fixed-term position until 31st December 2020 and is available from 1st December 2017 (or as soon as possible thereafter).

The successful candidate will be based in the Mathematical Institute and will normally visit Emirates Group HQ in Dubai between four and six times a year for a few days at a time, so as to interface with Emirates Group data scientists, business intelligence staff, and senior management.

The successful candidate will work on research projects related to the grant.  Regularly write research articles at a national level for peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and reviews. Present papers at national conferences and lead seminars to disseminate research findings.  They will also provide an average of 3 hours per week of teaching for 24 weeks of the year, for which additional remuneration will be paid.

Applicants will already have appropriate postdoctoral experience, following a recent PhD in mathematics, or a mathematical science related subject and experience of delivering actionable data driven insights, from mathematical research to potential users, within the industry.
