We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position, funded by EPSRC and the Royal Society to work with Dr Ian Griffiths in the Mathematical Institute.  This is a 10 month fixed-term position and is available for an immediate start.

The successful candidate will derive a series of predictive mathematical theories based on a blend of asymptotic and computational techniques to understand the role of compression and flexibility in filtration scenarios. The models will provide a theoretical underpinning for experimental observations.  They will also be given the opportunity to undertake teaching which will not exceed 3 hours per week for 24 weeks per annum.

The successful candidate will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a mathematics-related subject.  The candidate should also have knowledge of partial differential equations (PDEs) and scientific computing, and the ability to work independently and to pursue research as part of an interdisciplinary team.
