We invite applications for two Postdoctoral Research Assistant positions to work with Professor David Conlon at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. These are 2 year fixed-term positions and are funded by ERC until 30th June 2021.

The successful candidates will be members of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research as part of the ERC project 'Randomness and pseudorandomness in discrete mathematics', under the supervision of the grant holder Professor David Conlon, with a particular emphasis on developing new tools for solving longstanding problems in extremal combinatorics.

The successful candidates will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the other members of the group and will be expected to participate fully in the group's activities and to aid in the preparation and dissemination of research results.  They will also be given the opportunity to undertake teaching which will not exceed 3 hours per week for 24 weeks per annum.

Applicants will be expected to have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline.  They will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes and have the ability to manage their own academic research and associated activities together with previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations.
