Hello, my name is Jacobus Smit, but you can call me Martin (derived from my second name). My pronouns are he/him.
I'm currently a Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick, where I did my undergraduate studies in MORSE. I am studying for the Oxford Master's in Mathematical Sciences (OMMS) at St Cross college.
I love computational mathematics and statistics, especially their applications to social sciences such as economics and sociology. My programming language of choice is Julia*, a high-level dynamic programming language which has similar syntax to Python and MATLAB but can achieve speeds similar to C/C++. I author and maintain the TernaryPlots.jl.
*That's right, you've found someone who actually uses the language. Come join the community here, always welcoming beginners.
