Department of Mathematics, State University of New York at Buffalo is hiring two tenure-track Assistant Professors, at least one of which is in "mathematical biology, computational neuroscience, network science, and complex systems" (this does not imply that the second position is in a different research field). You can contact Naoki Masuda - @email - for more info.
"With this new professorship, we aim to extend our research and teaching in one area of mathematics for high-dimensional problems with connections to mathematical modeling, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other areas relevant in natural sciences. The research may focus on improving accuracies in modeling and prediction tasks, or enhancing the scalability of the techniques for interdisciplinary applications to complement existing expertise at our department and faculty."
Talking Maths in Public is a conference for people who work in or otherwise participate in communicating mathematics to the public. There will be two days of workshops, talks and more, and is available to attend in person or online.
The conference runs in the UK every two years. The event is independently organised, and funded by ticket sales and grants from mathematical institutions. Our events in 2017, 2019 and 2021 (online) all fully sold out and were highly rated by attendees.
