EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Industrially Focused Mathematical Modelling

 What is InFoMM CDT?

  • Oxford's new EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Industrially Focused Mathematical Modelling is a partnership between EPSRC, the University of Oxford, and 37 non-academic partners
  • The four-year degree will train students in cutting-edge mathematical methods and how to exploit them to solve problems arising in companies.

 Why join the InFoMM CDT?

  • The first year of training will give students a broad range of mathematical skills alongside exposure to a wide range of companies and sectors.
  • There is a comprehensive package of transferable skills specifically tailored to enable mathematicians to interact with industry.
  • All project work is supervised by leading academics from the University of Oxford and undertaken in close collaboration with companies.
  • Students completing this four-year research degree will be poised to become leaders either in academia or in industry.

How to apply for the course

  • Oxford's long tradition of mathematical modelling and scientific computing underpin the CDT training.
  • Students will complete an intensive first year of training before undertaking research projects focused on a problem from one of our partner companies.
  • We welcome applications from talented mathematicians and exceptional students from other theoretical science subjects.
  • Funding is available for UK/EU and non-EU citizens, covering all fees and a grant for living expenses.
  • Applications are considered in gathered fields. Further details about the application process can be found at our How to Apply page.
