Industrial mathematics has a rich history at Oxford, spawning Study Groups with Industry (now a worldwide phenomenon) in 1968 and the Mathematics in Industry Information Service (MIIS) in 2003, which was primarily a repository for reports from Industry Study Groups. In partnership with CUP, we have now launched Mathematics In Industry Reports, as the successor to MIIS. We (Hilary Ockendon and Chris Breward) encourage those that are interested to visit MIIR and to add constructive commentary on Study Group reports as they appear.
