Applications are invited for the post of Research Facilitator, to support the research activities of the Mathematical Institute by increasing the number of funded grants and reducing the administrative burden associated with the initiation and continuation of research projects.

Reporting to the Head of Research Facilitation, the post-holder will be expected to have or acquire a comprehensive understanding of the department's research portfolio at a detailed level, and of the sponsored-research environments in the UK and abroad. Working collaboratively within the group, he or she will manage and contribute to all elements of grant-application preparation and distribute information on funding opportunities within the department.

The successful candidate will have experience of grant writing in a numerate discipline, postgraduate or other relevant experience of scientific writing, an excellent first degree in a numerate discipline together with excellent problem-solving skills, including the demonstrable ability to make and defend own judgements and manage a wide range of unconnected projects simultaneously.
