QAA (the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) produce subject benchmark statements. In their words, "Subject Benchmark Statements describe the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas. They show what graduates might reasonably be expected to know, do and understand at the end of their studies."
The statement for Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research has recently been reviewed, and QAA has launched a consultation, which runs until 2 November. The consultation is open to all colleagues from across the higher education sector, including students, staff, professional, statutory and regulatory bodies, subject associations and employers.
