Women In Number theory and Geometry (WINGs) 2023 is the third instalment of an annual retreat aimed at early career mathematicians, from PhD onwards. The idea is to counteract the isolation which can be experienced by female mathematicians during their career by fostering a sense of community from the start. This year, WINGs will be held at Ringwood Hall, Chesterfield (pictured)) from the 17th - 20th April 2023. Accommodation and meals will be provided for all participants.

The event will include six keynote talks: three geometers (Frances Kirwan, Diane MacLagan, Rachael Boyd), three number theorists (Ana Caraiani, Rachel Newton, Chloe Martindale), and a career talk from a mathematician outside academia (Emma Bowley).

There will also be social activities to encourage interaction between participants, a career panel, and short talks given by participants, with the aim of learning about each other’s research interests.

You can register for free by the 15th February 2023. For more information click here and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at @email. We hope to see you there!

All the best,

The WINGs organising committee (Michela Barbieri (UCL), Marta Benozzo (UCL), Diana Mocanu (Warwick) and Katerina Santicola (Warwick)
