Careers

The University of Oxford’s Careers Service provides a range of advice and guidance on career paths, CVs, and Cover Letters. They organise a full calendar of events around Oxford, including career fairs, workshops, and employer presentations. Through their website, 1000s of job opportunities are advertised, as well as a variety of internships.

Another useful source of guidance is Prospects, an online career tool.

IT

The following are links through to the IT support available to students:

Library

Students will have a range of library services available to them whilst at the University. Each student will have access to their college library and the various Bodleian Libraries around Oxford, including the Radcliffe Science Library. Information about non-Bodleian libraries can be found here.

Additionally, students completing a dissertation may request a book for consultation if it is held only by the Whitehead Library (and not held in RSL, their College library or as an e-book) by emailing the Librarian at:  @email.

The book will be sent to the RSL where it can be consulted for reference, not borrowing.

Those completing a dissertation at the Department of Statistics or taking one of their courses will also have the ability to borrow books from the Statistics library.

Study Room

There is a study room available for all undergraduate and masters students which is located on the Mezzanine level of the Mathematical Institute. In this quiet space, there is a multitude of working spaces and students will have access to several communal computers.

Student Bulletin

During term time a weekly e-bulletin is circulated on a Friday. This will contain various departmental and university news items, such as upcoming events. It will also collate the various circulars received from external companies and institutions, to include career and PhD opportunities. Do check your inbox for this each Friday in weeks 0 through to 8.
