Oxford postgraduates go on to hold positions of responsibility all over the world and in many different spheres of life. What is the nature of leadership in a complex world? What personal qualities are required to lead in a way that best serves the public good?

The aim of the Global Leadership Summer School (GLSS) is to develop your intellectual and practical understanding of what makes for good leadership in your context and put the learnings into practice as you go on your own leadership journey after graduating from Oxford. The week-long programme will help you to grow as a leader who is both effective and ethical, who furthers the good of society and enables others to flourish.

Who can apply?

Any postgraduate student enrolled in a full-time programme at the University of Oxford.

How does it work?

We convene a group of multidisciplinary Oxford postgraduate students representing different nationalities, leadership cultures, academic disciplines, philosophical and religious traditions. This group will make up a leadership "learning community" that will meet throughout the academic year and engage in regular reflections, dialogues, and practices to become good leaders.

How many spaces are available?

We will form three learning communities, focusing on Business & Entrepreneurship, Law & Public Policy, and Technology & Innovation. Each community will accept up to 20 students. Students from any academic discipline are welcome to apply in any of the learning communities, as long as their future career aspirations are aligned with the focus of the community. No prior work experience or academic training in these areas is necessary.

Early applications close: 16th April 2023

Final application deadline: 7th May 2023
