On Wednesday 10 May at 4pm the Oxford Martin School will be hosting Dr Giulia Cuccato, Head of Science Systems and Academic Engagement at the Government Office for Science for a discussion on:
- how the UK science advice system works;
- how policymakers think about expertise and experts, and;
- what challenges this presents to researchers and policymakers - and how we can respond to them.
Giulia will be speaking with Will Pryor, Head of Policy Engagement at Oxford and Dr Maru Mormina, Senior Researcher at the Ethox Centre in the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities.
The event will be available in person (at Oxford Martin School – including a drinks reception 5-6pm) and online but will NOT be recorded, so this is a one off chance to hear from one of the top voices in the science policy interface with academia. All career stages and subject areas are welcome.
