Conferences
Oxford has hosted several major conferences in different areas of algebra. Some recent ones are listed below, together with links to lists of upcoming conferences in algebra hosted elsewhere.

- 25th November 2010: Lie Theory day.

- 24th-26th May 2010: Three-day meeting on "Modular Lie powers and related topics", incorporating the 48th BLOC meeting (24th May).

- 30th March-3rd April 2009: Group Theory, Number Theory and Geometry
- Conference on the occasion of Fritz Grunewald's 60th birthday.
- 9th-11th April 2008: Postgraduate Group Theory Conference
- A student-organized conference, in which postgraduates from UK universities can meet and exchange ideas, and get an idea of just what research is being done by research students in and around group theory throughout the country.
- 3rd-9th January 2008: LieGrits Workshop
- The final workshop of the European RTN training research network "Flags, Quivers and Invariant Theory in Lie Representation Theory" (LieGrits, MRTN-CT-2003-505078).
- 5th-6th January 2007: The Hall-Higman theorems: 50 years on
- In 1956 the London Mathematical Society published a seminal paper by Philip Hall and Graham Higman entitled 'On the p-length of p-soluble groups and reduction theorems for Burnside's problem'. This conference was held to mark its (approximately) 50th anniversary and Higman's 90th birthday.
- 5th April 2006: One-day meeting on "Reductive groups and their representations"
- 3rd-4th March 2006: Conference in honour of the 80th birthday of Sandy Green
