Downloading files using Safari

Safari, unfortunately, lacks support for NFS shares, thus preventing the direct downloading of files to the Downloads folder. To address this matter, kindly consider modifying your default downloads folder within Safari's settings. Following this adjustment, you will have the ability to relocate downloaded files to your preferred destination.

1. Please open Safari and from top left click "Safari" and select "Preferences..."

2. In  "General" tab, please select "File download location" field and then click "Other..." as shown in the below screenshot.

3. You can either select "Scratch" from the left pane under the Locations section or, as shown in the screenshot, click the bar at the top of the window and choose your computer name (mine is space-cat.maths.ox.ac.uk), allowing you to access the Scratch volume.

4. Now click Select and close the settings panel.

The problem should be resolved, and any future downloads will be directed to the Scratch volume.
