"With this new professorship, we aim to extend our research and teaching in one area of mathematics for high-dimensional problems with connections to mathematical modeling, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other areas relevant in natural sciences. The research may focus on improving accuracies in modeling and prediction tasks, or enhancing the scalability of the techniques for interdisciplinary applications to complement existing expertise at our department and faculty."
