Machine learning as a new tool for mathematicians

On Wednesday András Juhász and Marc Lackenby published a paper in Nature (and on its cover) in collaboration with authors from DeepMind and with Geordie Williamson at the University of Sydney. The paper describes a new crossover between the fields of mathematics and machine learning, where tools from machine learning have been used to discover new patterns in mathematics.
