You can not submit late on Inspera. Once the writing and 30 minute technical time is up, Inspera will close and the 5 minutes begin. You must then send your paper to the help desk before 5 minutes is up. After 6 minutes, you will fail the exam.

Online exams are hard and so many things can go wrong that are not your fault. But not reading the instructions should not be one of them.

Submitting an MCE could mean the difference between failing an exam and having your late submission forgiven.
The examiners will consider your statement at the final exam board meeting when marks are finalized and could potentially reverse the penalty if you submitted late for acceptable reasons (genuine tech problems, unforeseen circumstances, etc).
