If you are passionate about teaching mathematics and believe you have what it takes to inspire young people in the classroom, you should consider applying for one of 270 Maths Scholarships available for those starting initial teacher training in 2023/24.
If you are selected as a 2023/24 Maths Scholar, you will receive a tax-free bursary of £29,000, complimentary membership of key mathematical societies, and excellent opportunities for CPD, networking and knowledge-sharing during your initial teacher training year. Attending our CPD events provides Maths Scholars with the opportunity to take away resources, network with experienced maths teachers and hear from inspirational speakers; developing the tools and confidence to progress in their career.
Following their initial teacher training year, Maths Scholars are invited to become Alumni; meaning that the Scholar community is always sure to include experienced teachers along with the new Scholars. Members of our Alumni are also invited to select CPD events so they can continue their professional development and expand their personal network further.

Joining us will be a representative from an outstanding teacher training provider who can answer questions pertaining to the process of applying to teacher training. Please note that this advice is provided independently of any provider.
We will also be joined by a current Maths Scholar, who will be able to tell you what it is like to be undertaking a mathematics initial teacher training course and to be a Maths Scholar.

Maths Teacher Training Scholarships Eligibility Criteria and Application Process can be found on our website and are separate to that of initial teacher training. For this reason, it is essential you refer to our website to check your eligibility and how to submit an application.
When do we close?
We have set a provisional closing date of 09:00 on Monday 3 July 2023. Please note that in previous years we have received an overwhelming number of applications and been forced to close early. Should this happen again, we will have to move our closing date forward - so please don’t delay in applying!
