Please complete the form below to apply to be a mentor on the Problem Solving Matters course in Oxford.
Mentors are to help facilitate the course by supporting Year 12 students (aged 16-17) with their mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills prior to them taking the TMUA or other admissions tests.
We require mentors to be available for all three face to face study days held at the Maths Institute (Saturday 27 June, Saturday 4 July, and Saturday 12 September, 9.30am-4pm). Mentors will also be expected to monitor their emails through the summer period and respond to any queries from their group.
All mentors will be required to take part in an online training session before the programme starts. The session will run twice, on Tuesday 4 June and Monday 8 June, both at 7.00pm – 8.30pm. The sessions will be recorded so that anyone who cannot attend will be able to catch up with the training.
There will be 37 hours of paid work involved (including training) at £14.06 p/h. We have some additional funding to help with travel costs for mentors.
