The Oxford Maths Festival is returning for 2025!
This public event is an annual Maths extravaganza for the local community hosted by the Mathematical Institute. We are running a packed weekend of mathematical activities over the weekend of 10-11 May (end of Trinity week 2). Every year this event attracts hundreds of local residents, with children aged 4 and up as well as adults. You can see last year’s website here: https://mathsfest.web.ox.ac.uk/home. We need all the help we can get to ensure the event runs smoothly.
We need volunteers to help with:
- Saturday 10 May: Hands-on maths activities in Templars Square Shopping Centre in Cowley https://goo.gl/maps/hpeChM1WjqtJkVVd9
- Sunday 11 May: Family maths in the Mathematical Institute. Range of activities including problems, games, craft, shows, and workshops.
You can sign up for morning and/or afternoon shifts on both days - as many as you have time for! All volunteers will receive training and a festival t-shirt, as well as drinks, snacks, and lunch on the day to keep you going. This is a fantastic and fun event and a great way to help us engage the public with Maths and related subjects.
This volunteering opportunity is open to all. You can find out more information and sign up as a volunteer online here: https://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/node/34146.
The deadline to sign up is the last Friday of term (14 March).
Please contact @email if you have any questions.
