This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Mathematical Institute, a thriving academic department with an outstanding reputation for its teaching and research. As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for leading the Accounts Payable, Expenses and Receivable functions of the department, including the management of two Finance Assistants. You will report to the Deputy Finance Manager.
In this varied and challenging role you will ensure the smooth running of both the purchase ledger and sales ledger. Overall, you will:
- have responsibility for the prioritisation and coordination of work, ensuring that the team are performing consistently, University guidance is followed and that work is completed in an accurate and timely manner;
- drive excellence within the team, leading by example and demonstrating a high level of motivation and professionalism; and
promote a process improvement environment and encourage a positive and collaborative environment where best practice is shared and new suggestions and ideas are welcomed.
