General

Position:- The project remains 1 week ahead of programme with the more critical activities running through the south.

Curtain Walling Mock Up:- The mock up with the reconstituted stone and corner connections has been erected and inspected.

Visits:- The Maths Department visited the site on 27/4/2012 to view the latest progress.

Future works for April

Drainage & Basement Slab:- The last remaining central basement slab (6B) was poured on Monday 23/4/2012.

Steel Beams & Columns:- Steelwork is being delivered and erected as required.

Blockwork:- The block walls that form a straight face in front of the structural secant piles commenced on 30/4/2012 in the basement. The hoist is used to serve the blocklayers with materials.

Mezzanine Floor:- The central area mezzanine level slabs have been half completed with the remaining to be completed by mid May. As the slabs are completed and gain strength the temporary large yellow props spanning across the site will progressively be removed.

Ground Floor:- The next critical section on the south is targeted to be poured on 8/5/2012. The various level changes and upstand beams required to edges means that the ground floor slabs will be poured in smaller sections.

1st Floor:- The initial slab on the south to the 1st floor was poured on 3/5/2012. These slabs consist of a set of precast concrete planks (temporarily supported) with an insitu concrete topping with strands (steels within tubes) which are stressed (tightened at the ends) after the concrete has set hard.
