Join St John’s Supernumerary Fellow in Mathematics, Professor James Maynard FRS, for a ‘behind the scenes’ insight into his world-leading research in the field of number theory. In 2022, Professor Maynard was awarded Mathematics’ highest honour – the Fields Medal – in recognition of his ‘spectacular contributions to analytic number theory’.
During Professor Maynard’s talk, audience members will be invited to take a short (approx 5 minutes), live forecasting survey using Mentimeter. Anonymised responses will be used for research purposes and will be discussed during the event to illustrate how audience expectations compare with the speaker's experience.
The event is taking place at St John's College, in their Garden Quad Auditorium, on Tuesday 10th March at 5pm. Please reserve your place via Eventbrite.
