Oxford Unbounded 2026-2027 - Teacher application form

Oxford Unbounded is a free online mentoring programme to help students achieve top grades at Maths GCSE/National 5s. This form is for teachers to apply for places for up to 4 students to take part in the 2026-2027 pilot programme. Please read the information below carefully.

The Programme

The aim of Oxford Unbounded is to help students on track for a grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) achieve a grade 8 or 9. We hope by helping to raise attainment at GCSE/National 5, students will be more likely to continue studying Maths post-16.

Oxford mentors will tutor groups of 4-5 students online on a weekly basis during the summer between Y10 and Y11 (or equivalent) and then continue to provide support during Y11. Students will also be invited to a 3-day revision residential at the Mathematical Institute and Lincoln College, Oxford during the April before their Y11 exams.

The programme, including the residential, is entirely free for schools and students and is funded by a generous donation to the University of Oxford to expand our outreach work with socio-economically disadvantaged students in STEM subjects.

Please see the Oxford Unbounded webpage and the linked document here "Additional information for teachers (PDF)" for further details about the programme and a provisional timetable.

Applying

We have very limited space on the pilot programme this year, and priority will be given to state-maintained schools with a high proportion of students from backgrounds that are underrepresented at Oxford. Selected schools will nominate a maximum of 4 students per school, and we will ask teachers to take into account the gender balance of the school when considering which students to nominate. Next year we intend to launch our full programme at a much larger scale. Please tick the future communications box in the application form below if you would like us to email you when applications open in 2027.

Applications close on Thursday 30 April at 17:00. You will receive an email confirming whether or not your school has been allocated places shortly following this deadline. If you have been successful, you will also receive information about the next steps for enrolling your students.
