Postgraduate Application Information
This is where you can find out more from the Mathematical Institute's staff and students about the range of postgraduate courses available. In the coming weeks there will be information about our MSc courses as well as our DPhil in Mathematics programme. You will be able to hear from members of faculty about the application process as well as from some current students about their experiences of life in the Mathematical Institute. Members from some of our Research Groups will also be providing further details about the opportunities available to prospective DPhil students.

MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics
If you are interested in our Mathematical and Theoretical Physics MSc course take a look at this video of Professors Lionel Mason and Caroline Terquem discussing the course structure and the many options available.

Why do a PhD?
If you are considering applying for a DPhil with us (a DPhil is what we call a PhD at Oxford) then you should definitely watch Professor Melanie Rupflin explain some of the key things to consider as well as the potential benefits that will result from your doctoral studies.
PhD interviews - how to prepare and what to expect
In this video Professor Helen Byrne and two of her DPhil students from the Mathematical Biology group will give you an idea of how the interview process works, what to expect and how best to prepare.
OCIAM Research Group
If you're interested in Applied Mathematics then Professor Ian Griffiths from the OCIAM group has some interesting stories to tell about the links between mathematics and industrial processes.
And if you found that interesting then watch Professor Ian Hewitt talk about his research on modelling melting ice sheets and glaciers...
In the meantime, why not watch some of the sessions from last year's Postgraduate Open Day.
