Postgraduate Application Information

This is where you can find out more from the Mathematical Institute's staff and students about the range of postgraduate courses available. In the coming weeks there will be information about our MSc courses as well as our DPhil in Mathematics programme. You will be able to hear from members of faculty about the application process as well as from some current students about their experiences of life in the Mathematical Institute. Members from some of our Research Groups will also be providing further details about the opportunities available to prospective DPhil students.

Information about our Masters courses

MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics

If you are interested in our Mathematical and Theoretical Physics MSc course take a look at this video of Professors Lionel Mason and Caroline Terquem discussing the course structure and the many options available.

Information about our DPhil in Mathematics and our Research Groups

Why do a PhD?

If you are considering applying for a DPhil with us (a DPhil is what we call a PhD at Oxford) then you should definitely watch Professor Melanie Rupflin explain some of the key things to consider as well as the potential benefits that will result from your doctoral studies.

Mathematical Logic Research Group

Watch this video to find out more about the Mathematical Logic group from Professor Jochen Koenigsmann and three current DPhil students, as well as information about the many seminars and other activities organised by the group.

OCIAM Research Group

If you're interested in Applied Mathematics then Professor Ian Griffiths from the OCIAM group has some interesting stories to tell about the links between mathematics and industrial processes.

Topology Research Group

Whether you are interested in a DPhil related to the field of Topology or you would just like to hear about one of our Research Groups, why not watch Professor Marc Lackenby and some of his students as they discuss applications, life as a DPhil student at the Mathematical Institute, and college life at Oxford.

Further information will be added shortly.

In the meantime, why not watch some of the sessions from last year's Postgraduate Open Day.
