It is almost Christmas (no, really) and that means we need a card. Or, to be precise, a mathematically inspired card. So if you are feeling creative and want to win £50 of Amazon vouchers please email Dyrol (@email). Our designers will work with you so you don't have to have final design or even a fully thought out idea. However, the idea is that the final card will animate (click the image below to see last year's animation).
This year the Andrew Wiles Building is going to Christmas party like it's 2019. However, we would like your thoughts as to your preferred day (no, we aren't having two parties, though it is an idea).
Option 1 - Friday 9th December
Option 2 - Friday 16th December
4 pm - 6pm.
Please email "9" or "16" in a titleless email to Dyrol (@email).
We are seeking talented postdoctoral researchers to take up Hooke and Titchmarsh Fellowships. These prestigious Fellowships are full-time, and fixed-term for up to 36 months. They provide an ideal opportunity for candidates to pursue an independent research programme, and to join a large existing cohort of leading researchers on Fellowship programmes at the Mathematical Institute.

Do you know of undergraduates who would like to get involved in Outreach?
There are a huge number of opportunities to get involved in Outreach in the department; helping at events, researching topics for our Online Maths club, and making the department a welcoming place for visitors.
Students can get involved by signing up to the Oxford Maths Ambassadors. They will develop skills such as networking and problem-solving, get to work in a team with other students, and be paid for their time.
Oxford Mathematics has become a partner in the Martingale Postgraduate Foundation's programme of funding scholarships for students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. The programme is especially focussing on students for whom finance is a barrier to pursuing their studies.
The University and Man Group have announced that funding support for the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance (OMI), the University's centre for interdisciplinary research in financial markets, has been extended for a further five years until at least 2027.
OMI is led by our very own Alvaro Cartea and includes Oxford Mathematics faculty and students.
