The Last Word, BBC Radio 4's obituary programme, will have a piece on Vicky Neale by Hannah Fry today at 4pm. Hannah knew Vicky well and features in the Maths + Cancer podcasts that Vicky made late last year.

Mathematics is a young person's game. In which case 70 is the new 21.

Happy birthday to Terry on his 70th. He is pictured here with the DataSig team who replaced the usual meetings with a celebration. Not a bad idea.

Over the last few months FM have been removing the old erasers and providing new microfibre cloths, which provide a much better and easier clean for the whiteboards, both in offices and teaching/event spaces. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have managed to source and reuse plastic bottles that were due for disposal. As some of you may have seen these little white plastic spray bottles pop-up in the offices.

The University is constantly producing research about the impact of meat and diary production on our carbon footprint and health. To align ourselves with that research, next week the cafe will be meat-free, both hot meals and salads.

It won't be fully plant-based, though we will trial that later in the year. Let us know what you think.

Welcome to another episode of 'Me and My Maths', starring Adam, Sofia, Edwina and Yixuan.

In 90 seconds each of our guests describes life in Oxford Mathematics. Adam discusses the master's course in mathematical modelling and scientific computing, Sofia describes the wonders of working in higher dimensions, Edwina talks about partnerships with medics, and Yixuan explains how industry and academia work together on problems. In addition, they each talk about the wider working environment and the importance of their colleagues.

The Oxford Maths Festival is our extravaganza of all the wonderful curiosities mathematics holds. Over two days you can immerse yourself in a wide range of events, with something for everyone, no matter age or prior mathematical experience.
