We are pleased to announce that applications for the award-winning programme, RisingWISE, are now open. Aimed at women postdoc researchers in STEM and run in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, we are now in our fifth year of creating impact. RisingWISE is an enterprise course and network for women early career researchers in STEM that has a consistent success rate of 100 referral score and a growing alumni community.

Applications are now invited for two LMS Cecil King Travel Scholarship in 2023. The scholarship is designed to support study or research abroad for early career mathematicians, typically for a period of three months. £6,000 is awarded for each scholarship, one to a mathematician in any area of mathematics and the second to a mathematician whose research is applied in a discipline other than mathematics.

The Early Career Researcher Committee met last month and, among other things, discussed the Race Equality Action Plan, the new Departmental website, ECR socials, and mock interviews which will take place over the summer.

ECRs (Early Career Researchers aka Postdocs) are invited for dinner at The White Rabbit (pictured) at 6.30pm on Wednesday next week. This informal event picks up a pre-covid tradition, and intends to bring together ECRs from all around the Department. All ECRs are welcome, newcomers in particular.

The department generously subsidises this one! Places are limited. Sign up and further info here
